Service Department FAQs

Some of the questions often asked by Heritage Equipment Company customers are answered below. We know our customers’ questions are as varied as their equipment needs, however, and we may not have answered them all here. How long will it take to make repairs?

Repairs can be simple or quite complex, and it could take anywhere from a couple of hours to as much as a week to 10 days.

Can you give me information I need to make my own repairs?

We can give you information on how to do your own repairs. There also will be times, however, when we tell you that the problem is too complex for anyone other than a John Deere-certified mechanic to handle.

What is checked during a tractor service special?

We do a 136-point inspection including hydraulics and electrical systems as well as all the other systems on board the machine. It comes with a cab detail and a wash-and-wax.

What is checked during a combine service special?

We do a 239-point inspection including all on board systems and their updates. Concaves, cylinder bars, and cleaning systems are just a few of the items we look at.

Do you service lawn mowers at the home?

We do service lawn mowers at homes if it is a simple repair. Anything complex, we will need to bring the mower to the shop.

How do we contact you after hours? 

You work long hours, and so do we. During busy seasons, the phones are always forwarded to a cell phone so that you can reach the person on call.

What is your labor rate?

Labor rates are a moot point as we try to quote all jobs so that you will know the cost of repairs and labor before we even start the repairs.
